Patient Self Testing

Regular testing of the prothrombin time (PT) and the international normalized ratio (INR) is required for patients on oral anticoagulant therapy (OAT) to monitor their blood coagulation level and avoid issues from either over or under coagulation. A healthcare practitioner or the patient can test the PT/INR. Patient self-testing, often known as home testing, is the latter kind of testing. The goal of this study was to learn about patients' opinions and experiences with PT/INR self-testing with portable coagulometer devices.

We provide you with training about how you can take your blood test at home, and we also provide you with the equipment with which you can take the blood test or many other tests related to your health.

What must we do to fulfill our responsibilities?

- Managing consumable supply schedules (strips)

- Providing physicians and patients with low-cost or no-cost equipment and reimbursed supplies.

- Obtaining test results as soon as feasible and communicating them to the attending physician so that changes can be made.

There are several advantages to self-testing at home.

1. Enhance patient care and satisfaction.

2 Engage your patients to improve adherence.

3: Reduce healthcare costs threefold.

4 Assists patients in staying on track with their treatment regimens.

5: Notifies physicians in a timely manner when patients are out of range.

6 Assists in lowering drug-related problems.

Conclusions

Patients' blogs on PT/INR testing provide useful information for understanding the nature of patients' experiences and viewpoints on OAT self-testing. The topics explored in this article illustrate the significant complications inherent in healthcare self-testing programs. As a result, the difficulties raised in this study are extremely useful for all stakeholders involved in establishing successful self-testing strategies in healthcare, which are now gaining a lot of traction, especially among patients with chronic illnesses.
